Or I guess disappearing ink is more appropriate since ghostly ink would be ink that comes back not disappears. What am I babbling about? I stole a nifty pen from my son’s school supplies. It is a pilot Frixion erasable pen. It writes very smooth.
So naturally I used it to write the outline for the rest of my book. It was great. A masterpiece really. Or, at least that is how I remember it. You see this ink erases with the special eraser tip on the pen- which is cool. It totally erases too- doesn’t leave ink behind. But you know what else erases it?
Let’s say some doofus, we’ll call her Missa for this example, sets her hot, steaming coffee on her notepad while she is typing on her laptop, anything she wrote with this pen will disappear. (sigh)
In case you weren’t able to figure it out, the doofus is me. Yes, chapters 13, 16-20 are all gone. Normally, I am a pantser type of writer. (write by the seat of my pants-with no idea what is going to happen). This is one of the few times I have tried outlining because I am having trouble getting this story written (health reasons not writer reasons). I should have known something would go screwy.
I am not giving up though. I am trying to re-create the hidden chapters. One good thing about this scary ordeal is I had a few new ideas that I might use.
Learn from my pain people. If it is important- do not use erasable ink. Or do not put that paper near heat. Good thing we have Trick-or-Treat candy to get me through the crisis.
While I’d like to say I have been busy being creative these last few months, I’m not going to lie to you. This outline is about all the creative stuff I have done in a month or two. Oh, unless you count my Halloween wreath (the black and orange blob in the center of the ribbon is a little witch hat and I lost a few skeleton hands hanging it up.)
The ideas are there and hopefully things on the health front will get fixed soon and I will be toiling on my laptop and troubling my characters again soon. But no boiling- at least not near my outline.
Happy Halloween my ninjas!
